Kentucky Wesleyan College is a four-year liberal arts college located in Owensboro, Kentucky. Founded in Millersburg in 1858 by the Kentucky Conference of the Methodist Church, KWC strives to provide a nurturing, Christian environment for each member of its campus community. In accordance with its mission to prepare leaders for the future, KWC allows students to engage in a total college experience, enabling them to link critically, logically, and creatively, while acquiring competency in the major of their choice.
The campus of Kentucky Wesleyan College provides a beautiful backdrop to its already rich educational heritage. From the historic feel of the Barnard-Jones Administration Building to the newly constructed Winchester Campus Community Center, students will experience a wide variety of educational opportunities.
KWC’s 66-acre campus also provides plenty of outdoor “green” space, where students can study, participate in athletic activities, or just enjoy some leisure time. Nestled minutes off the Ohio River, Kentucky Wesleyan College has made its home in the southern part of Owensboro since 1950. Owensboro, Kentucky’s third largest city, provides students with the benefits of a large city in a small town atmosphere.
Located four hours or less from Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Evansville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Nashville, and St. Louis, Kentucky Wesleyan College is close to everywhere! |

| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |

Leadership KWC is available to all students, combining academic and co-curricular learning. Leadership skills apply to many facets of our daily lives, such as church, community organizations, work and recreation to name a few. The Leadership KWC program helps students understand leadership styles, looks at profiles of past and present leaders, and allows students to experience personal leadership through courses such as “Profiles in Leadership,” “The Psychology of Leadership,” and “Leadership in Business.” Leadership theory can be applied off campus, through special workshops, courses, educational trips, and internship opportunities. Students can utilize these principles on campus as well, through participation in campus clubs and organizations, as well as through KWC’s leadership development programs, known as Emerge, Lead, Serve, and Succeed.
Interested students may also qualify for one of our Stanley Reed Leadership awards. Named for Kentucky Wesleyan alumnus and former Supreme Court Justice Stanley Reed, this scholarship rewards students for their participation in school leadership programs as well as community involvement. |
